On battlefields ranging from the Amazon jungle to outer space, Martha Washington proves that heroes don't always come from West Point; sometimes they come from the ghetto. Against all odds, she triumphs in a desperate battle for freedom. In this struggle she is cast in many roles: prisoner, runaway, lunatic, seditionist and soldier.
