Wyatt Earp was born in Illinois, in 1848. Wyatt later moved to Missouri. There, he ran for marshal (against his brother) and won the election.
He drifted into Kansas and joined in the buffalo hunts which killed out the great herds. He served as a policeman in Dodge City, Kansas, where he became friends with two men; Dock Holliday and Bat Masterson. They formed the Earp gang and acquired a very bad reputation in Dodge City. IN 1879, silver was discovered in Tombstone, Arizona. Wyatt became a deputy sheriff in Tombstone. He was involved in the famous shootout at the O.K. Corral. He died in Los Angeles, in 1929.
