Karolina Dean is the daughter of Frank and Leslie Dean, two members of the Pride, a secret organization of supervillains in Los Angeles. Karolina possesses alien heritage from her mother's side, making her a member of the Majesdanian race. She discovers her true nature during a confrontation with her parents and witnesses their villainous activities.

Karolina joins the group of teenagers known as the Runaways, who are also children of the Pride members. The Runaways band together to oppose their parents and their nefarious activities. Karolina's powers manifest as a glowing and rainbow-like aura that surrounds her, granting her flight and energy projection abilities.

Karolina becomes an integral member of the Runaways, using her powers and empathetic nature to aid her friends in their fight against evil. She faces various challenges, including battles with other supervillains, internal conflicts within the group, and personal struggles with her identity and place in the world.
