Deadpool Daze Custom Contest
Love him or hate him, there's no denying that Deadpool is arguably the most popular character for customizers to tackle. The theme of this challenge is simple: all Deadpool, all the time.

- Any version of Deadpool, from any continuity/universe, is fair game. And, yes, all of the members of the Deadpool Corps count.

- In addition to the man himself, you may also create an amalgam of Deadpool and any other character that you like. You're not limited to the Marvel Universe, so, you can mix-and-match Wade with anyone or anything. Deadpool Betty White, Deadpool Voltron, Deadpool Batman, etc.--the possibilities are endless.

- Likewise, if you don't want to make a figure, you may also give a vehicle or playset a Deadpool redeco.

- If you submit multiple custom figures/things as a single contest entry, they ALL have to be "Deadpool-ized". For example, Deadpool accompanied by a "normal" Wolverine figure would not be acceptable. Wolverine would also have to be dressed-up like Deadpool to make it a legal entry.

- You may utilize whatever base bodies, parts, materials, and tools you like to bring your unique vision of the "Merc with a Mouth" to life. Which three variations of Wade Wilson will out Deadpool all the others and come out on top and snag the gold, silver, and bronze awards?

Please remember to follow the Contest Rules and to Vote Fairly.

So I'm more then a little pissed. Contest stated that we could do 3 entries, so I busted ass to get figures done, but then it told me I could only submit 2 entries a day. I Wish it would have told me that before hand. Some of those figures I was working on just hours before the deadline...

While I can sympathize with your frustration, the two entries per twenty-four hour period thing has been in place at Figure Realm for some time (years ago, some members were upset that their customs were getting "buried" by a deluge of new customs every day, so, that's why that policy was put into effect). At the time, I believe that I suggested that the daily limit should be three, rather than two, to avoid this very situation. That said, two entries per day is reasonable, as that'd amount to roughly sixty customs, per individual, per month, which should be more than sufficient for your average person (I've never made anywhere near sixty figures in a one month period myself).

In the future, I'd recommend trying to get your entries in a little bit sooner if you can, rather than waiting for the last day, to avoid this situation. Alternatively, you could have combined two of your three submissions into one entry, at least that way you could have gotten all three before the voters, albeit as two entries instead of three.

It WAS a multi-piece entry. It was actually 3 multi-piece entries consisting of 30 pieces. I had been working on them for almost half a year and it just so happened to coincide with the contest. So it wasn't that I was lazy, it was just a ton of work. And the entry that didn't post was themed with one of the ones that did. This was also my first time posting to Figure Realm so I was completely unaware of the rule, as well that rule isn't posted on the either the contest of the submissions page (as far as I saw, but I may have missed it).
Oh well. I guess I just get to submit the last 10 pieces individually now.

I've passed your concerns on to Captain Coder (Figure Realm's owner/administrator)--if nothing else, I imagine we can get that rule about the submissions limitation more prominently displayed for the benefit of new(er) members like yourself.

Okay, Captain Coder has added a reminder, to the general contest rules, about submission limitations, so, hopefully, this type of situation will be less likely to occur in the future.

Also, I didn't know this until Captain Coder told me, but, if a member contributes to the Figure Realm site, increasing their customizer rank, an individual can gain the ability to submit more than two customs per day. However, the "base" submission rate, for non-contributers, remains at two-per-day.

Again, probably the safest course of action is to try to get contest submissions in ahead of deadline if you can (one never knows when something outside of your control, like a power outage, could prevent a person from submitting their customs on the last day either).

Can I do an original figure related to Deadpool, like his daughter?

As long as you dress her up like her old man, I don't see a problem, as that would essentially amount to an amalgam of a random girl/woman and Deadpool anyway.

Deadpool having a daughter would kind of be a riff on Deathstroke and his daughter Ravager, which would certainly be appropriate considering that Deadpool is a knockoff of the DC villain to begin with.

Man, I just found this and wish I had more time. I'll do my best, but, do you guys ever do the same contest twice (on a later date of course)?

Yes, sometimes contests are repeated, particularly if they're popular ones (which this one looks like it's shaping up to be). If you look at the list of Figure Realm's past challenges (click on the "Contests" link, at the bottom of the column on the left side of the screen) you'll see that several have have been done twice, or more, over the years. Of course, as Deadpool Daze is a current challenge, you probably wouldn't see it repeated again for some time.

I hope someone does make a Deadpool Betty White

Yeah, that would rule (a Deadpool Corps consisting of all four Golden Girls would be even better). I don't know why, but she just popped into my head when I was typing up the rules.

I'm predicting the most submissions into a contest, ever!

Heh, yeah, I share your prediction too. I was going to put a comment in the rules that went something like this: "I consulted Reed Richards, and, after running the numbers, he believes that, by his most conservative estimates, this challenge should generate roughly one bazillion submissions."

A Deadpool contest is something that's been suggested/requested numerous times, so, I figured it was about time to actually do it.
