Maybe I'm in the minority, but I personally think the "no deadpool" rule is great. While I enjoy seeing all the custom variations of Wade, I think there are a lot of great options to go with.

Which is a long way of saying "great contest idea!".

Hello,
By entering the keywords "which Marvel characters have died» in Google, I was redirected to a wiki page: List of deceased American comic book characters.

There is a list of characters Marvel and DC and others who have died. The record clearly distinguishes those dead characters and resurrected.
One example is the White Tiger (Hector Ayala) is cited in the list as deceased. Is he ok to contest?

How about The Doctor? In The End of Time he states " I CAN die. Even if I regenerate , it FEELS like death. A new man saunters away, but, I am gone!"

Doctor Who!
I'll excuse you this time!

(Seriously, I had no idea who half the characters the rest of the Realm refer to! Dead pool?)

There should be a standard for what constitutes death. Brain death is a common one. I'm not sure the Dr. constitutes that usage. His regeneration is limited to a specified number of cycles. He has been granted more cycles by Time Lords before. I'm no expert in the good Dr. but disqualifying his character would disqualify many non-human or cosmic entities who hold a different concept of what life, death, and state of being are. IMHO.

RE: No Deadpools or Kennys:

Perhaps then a clarification of the rule should be "No characters whose specific power is to die/cheat death." Mr. Immortal, for another example. Or half the characters from DBZ, Buu and Cell in particular.

And what about characters like Magneto, who is technically mortal in universe, but has also died/been presumed dead more than twice?

Magneto is allowed, since unlike DP and kenny he doesn't die or nearly die in almost every appearence he has. So that's a long way of saying yes

If I could suggest something (up to the creator to honor), that vampires that got turned directly (ie didn't have to die to turn, or were born vampire) don't count. Likewise, creator can say technically all vampires have died in some way, so up to him

That is a good question, Kenny doesn't always die. There was I think a couple of episodes that he didn't die.
