Ginormous Giants Custom Contest
This contest is to celebrate all things giants, enormous, humongous, huge, well, you get the idea.

Giant figures have always been something memorable, and giant customs are even more. For this contest, you can submit any figure from a character which is bigger than the average human -no Daredevil Marvel Icons would be allowed, it has to be a character that at some point he has had gigantic proportions, and has to show that moment-. So, a obvious choice would be Giant Man for example, but you could also do Dr. Doom when in the Secret Wars he grew as a giant, or you could do a gigantic figure of Hulk.

We would be speaking of a big figure in comparison with 6 inches, so no 6 inches Juggernauts for Marvel Universe would be accepted.

Please remember to follow the Contest Rules and to Vote Fairly.

Wish I had read this contest earlier to clarify the description. I read it 3 times and I still can't tell if only physically large *characters*, or physically large *customs* are allowed, especially since the contest shows there are no "Size Restrictions".

Anyway, looks like a good turnout, good job everyone

The question I marked "Size Restrictions; 9 inch" when I proposed the contest, but once accepted and uploaded to the website, it said "Size Restrictions; none".

Anyway, considering the work it takes to make such big figures, the turnout is relatively good compared to other contests. Good luck to all!

grrr, I just edited it and it still won't change, will have to tell Captain Coder

thanks for the report

EDIT: Huh, it shows up now. Guess it needed time to update, or it won't accept text in that field.

Yeah, it was disheartening to find that two of my customs were removed from the running without my knowledge. According to the contest rules above, I seemed to meet the requirements. The "Size Restrictions:9" wasn't clear at the time, and my figures dwarfed 6 inch action figures. Looking through the comments, I can see more defined rules, but it shouldn't be my responsibility to comb through user comments for further stipulations that aren't listed under the contest rules.

So, just to clarify, if the figure is in the 12-inch size range, and appears huge and colossal, it will be allowed?

Yes, provided the character is a giant or has become one in his adventures. For example, a 12 huge and colossal Superman wouln't be allowed, as he has never been a giant (unless it has, and I am not aware of it!).

What you can do is invent your original giant, such as a new Frost Giant, or a new Celestial or whatever.

Would the Build A Figure of the ML Mandroid Armor be big enough to be considered "giant?"

Hello, I am afraid it wouldn't be eligible, as he is in size more or less with the standard Marvel Legends Hulk sized body, too small to be called a "giant".

This was a great idea for a Giants contest! I just want to ask if 10 or 12 inch versions of characters such as Colossus, Zangief, WWE the Big Show or Lobo would count as giants? Or do big guys like these not count for this contest?

Thank you! I am very excited being the first contest I manage and I propose to the realm!

Answering your question; it depends, if it has been drawn or portrayed in any media as a really big or tall character you can. For example, Hulk has varied hugely over the years, so you can make him nearly as big as you want. I have seen also Colossus being portrayed gigantic, and Zangief too, but the Big Show is just a tall real person, so he wouldn't be accepted. Lobo as far as I know would not be (according to the wiki he is 7' 6" unless you can come with a some picture that depicts him like a giant. I know Mattel made a DC figure of him with a Despero body, but I still have to see him looking so tall in comparison with Superman! and I've read other opinions that he is simply too huge too. So, the error of Mattel doesn't justify unless you can come out with a picture from a comic or cartoon.

I mean, to clarify things (sounds a bit blurry!) this contest is for figures bigger than a Marvel Legends Hulk. So the smallest is a Marvel Select Abomination, or a CnC Atom Smasher. Not smaller than 9 inches. I mean, if you were a 6 inch figure guy, what you would call a giant would be no less than an Atom Smasher. Otherwise the spirit disappears.

Of course, even if 9 inch is allowed, I suspect it will be far more impressive and appreciated bigger figures.
