Scales & Tails Custom Contest
Humans like to think that they're at the top of the food chain, but reptiles used to rule the Earth and who's to say that they can't do it again? Today the toy box, tomorrow the world! The goal of this challenge is to create a reptilian-themed custom toy.

- The character you choose to make can actually be a reptile, a hybrid (part reptile and part something else), or just someone that dresses up like one. "Normal" characters that have a reptile for a pet or use one as a mount are also acceptable, but you must include their reptile sidekick if you take that approach (i.e., Kitty Pryde with Lockheed, Jake "The Snake" Roberts with his python Damien, Crocmaster with a crocodile, a Stormtrooper with a Dewback, etc.) You can even create an original reptilian character if you like.

- Alligators/crocodiles, lizards, snakes, and turtles are the most obvious choices for subject matter, but keep in mind that prehistoric (dinosaurs) or fictional (dragons, hydrae, wyverns, etc.) reptiles are also fair game. The reptile doesn't have to be flesh and blood; it could be robotic, skeletal, etc.

- Here are some examples of reptilian characters/things and toy lines to get you thinking: Arbok, Badoon, Basilisk, Battle Beasts (any of the reptile ones), Bone Age dinosaur skeletons, Bossk (or some other Trandoshan), Coily, Constrictor, Copperhead, Dinobots, Dino-Riders dinosaurs, Dinosaucers, Dinosaurs For Hire, Dr. Deemo, Ekans, Fafnir, Fin Fang Foom, Gamera, Genbu, Godzilla, Gon, Gorn, Hauzer, The Horrid, Jurassic Park dinosaurs, Kaa, Killer Croc, King Hiss or his various Snake Men, King K. Rool or his Kremling underlings, Kobra/Lord Naga, Ladon, Leatherhead, Little Foot, Lizard, Master Viper, McFarlane's Dragons, Medusa (the mythical Greek monster, not Marvel's Inhuman), Mondo Gecko, Nidhoggr, Orochi, Overkill & Slugfest, Primal Rage dinosaurs, Quetzalcoatl, Reptar, Reptile (MK), Rex, Sauron, Scale Tail, Serpentor, Skullcruncher, Slash, Sleestaks, S-S-Slithe, Snapdragon, Snaptrap, Sobek, Spyro, Squirtle, Stegron, Sting Chameleon, Tiamat, TMNT, Tokka, Triceratons, Trypticon, Viper King, Visitors (V), Whiplash, and Yoshi.

- Your cold-blooded customs can be any size/scale and you may utilize whatever parts, materials, tools, and techniques you wish to bring your scaly creations to life.

I'm assuming you mean "poseable". No, the figure doesn't have to be articulated; your entry can be an immobile/static toy if you so desire. Contest submissions generally don't have to be articulated unless the contest rules specifically call for it, like the recent "Articulation Junkie" one did.

On the other hand, if you actually did mean "possible", the only restriction on subject matter is that the character has to be reptilian in some way, or at least look the part (I.e., a reptile-themed costume, like what G.I.JOE's Serpentor wears.) So, in short, it doesn't matter how improbable the character is as long as they're reptilian.

Soo....I know that we're allowed to enter up to three submissions, but what if we're doing a 'team' of reptiles? If we included them all in one submission as a team, would that be okay?

Yes, you may enter a team of reptiles as a single entry instead of splitting them up into separate submissions (the four TMNT would be a good example of that). That said, keep in mind that multiple entries also increases your chances of winning a trophy (up to three chances intead of one).

I started out by making a list of reptilian characters from my own head, then I went and consulted several Wikipedia pages for others. I admit that Sega's Vector completely escaped my notice, but then, there are probably dozens, if not hundreds, of other reptilian characters I missed as well.

Yes, you can do a human that's changing into a reptile. That would also be something you could submit to the Shapeshifters challenge.
