On March 25th 1994: The Elder Scrolls: Arena was released thusbegining a long lasting game series that would take many twists and turns and evolve into a beloved RPG still going strong. I was on my newsfeed and noticed that it was the 25th anniversary this morning and what a happy coincidence as I was about to post this my Morrowind Indoril Ordinator. I started this so long ago even before my Dark Trooper post and can’t find the WIP, But essentially its and ugly open mouthed Legolas, Jon Snow body and legs, Sherrif of Nottingham Lower legs and feet, Corronation Gimli gloves and Aragorn Pelenor Fields double jointed arms. Oh and needless to say a TON of sculpting. I used a lot of miliput and hand sculpted everything, the mask, boots, shield yes you heard me a shield! Mace, pauldrons vambraces, arm straps cuirass shirt, belt and buckles and a lovely blue scarf I only noticed when sculpting. Of course the Mohawk headdress as well though a small part was left over joker clown thug hair same as my Modryn Oreyn. The earring was a one ring from the council table. The mace was a balding battle Gandalf glamdring cut into a stick but keeping the handle them sculpted a ball on top added cocktail sticks, sculpted over etc. Shield just plastic bent in half and shaped then sculpted over completely, edges made and triangle then the Tribunal hand sculpted over. All the armour and shield is imprinted with a design either sculpted by hand or imprinted on by the an elaborate pattern piece of fodder. The whole sculpt was very difficult to get right and the ears being so thin I used left over beserker Uruk sword ends from other customs. A real trick was colouring him right, the helmet or mask really required painting different shades of gold brass copper and tarnished shades. I’m happy with the result it was a lot of trial and error and learning colours and shading like the trousers might be blue but. Eyes a lot of purple blue in the tunic so a lot of mixing paint occurred.
Bit of backstory; the Ordinators are religious guards who maintain imperial law in Vivec the capital of Vvadenfell and Island in Morrowind. Their armour is very obviously a reflection of Vivec the near god-like immortal poet warrior himself who I also made. Heir shield and buckle have the hand that symbolises the Trububal of which Vivec is one of the 3 worshiped in this religion. They aren’t very friendly Ordinators, but they tolerate you once you've progressed far enough in the game and met with Vivec, as long as you don’t break the law. Their base of operation is a comet suspended in the sky above Vivec city held by the power of Vivec himself. Known as the Ministry of Truth, the only way up to this prison fortress is to levitate which would be cool if ES brought back. They are deadly warriors and far more intimidating than any guard in any ES game I’ve encountered. Your best chance is to run if they start attacking you!
Hope you all like! Took a lot of effort and I’m hapyp with the result. I also feel that Modryn Oreyn was Oblivion’s Homage to the Ordinators.
