Sunspot is a figure I made as a swap for a friend of mine, Customs by Matchu. I finished this guy way back in February, so my apologies for being so late with posting this up. Overall, this was a fairly simple custom technique wise, but I feel like the execution was a big step for me. The base body is 90s Deadpool, with an ML Iceman head, and Darkhawk fists. I sculpted the seams of the costume, the collar, the hair and the mask. Then the paint was mostly Model Masters Acrylic, with Tamiya Acrylics for the eyes, and the energy effects with Testors Dullcote as my sealant. The energy effects are probably my favorite part of the figure if I'm being honest. the ones on the hands are just cut out of some sheets of clear plastic that slot onto the wrist pegs in between the forearm and the hands. Those are the less fun ones. The one on the back was really cool to make. I designed it in the CAD program Rhinoceros so I could laser cut it out of 1/8th inch acrylic sheets in black and transparent yellow so I could put the two pieces together for the two tone Kirby crackle effect. I also designed it to have two magnets into it to attach to magnets I had inserted into the back of the figure. Ideally I'd like to keep messing around with these kind of energy effects in the future. I feel like it really tied the figure together. Let me know what you guys think!
