Here are my Penguin Commando custom figures as seen in 1992's Batman Returns, directed by Tim Burton. To make the Penguin soldiers, I used the Commando set of figures made by Kenner for the film's toy line. I discarded all of the accessories. I repainted the penguins to more closely match the ones seen in the film, using reference photos as a guide. The metal straps and plated armor was done with sculpy. The antennas and cables are craft wire, and the Rockets are missiles and bombs from a model airplane kit. I used strips of molded plastic to mount the rockets on the penguin's backs. I hand painted the candy cane striping on the rockets, which was really hard to do. Shown here with Kenner's really cool Batskiboat toy.
