So, while I absolutely loved the DC Universe Classics line, and the Superman figures that they produced, I was never that big of a fan of the head that they used for the Man of Steel...I really thought that Mattel dropped the ball on that aspect of the Superman figures that they produced. Given that fact, I decided to make a slight mod with a better head.

So, in order to do this figure, I decided to use the DC Universe Classics/Signature Super Powers 30th Anniversary Superman figure, and used the boil and pop method to swap out his existing head with an extra DC Direct Justice League of America Series 1 Superman head (this head was sculpted to accurately approximate the artwork of artist Ed Benes from the first 2 story arcs that he drew which were written by Brad Meltzer). Next, I used a little brush and roller cleaner to remove the existing chest symbol. Once the chest symbol was completely erased, I used a baby wipe and some paper towels to thoroughly clean the figure's chest, and once clean, I commenced 2 generous coats of Flat Clear to the chest. Once the Flat Clear had dried, I glued new symbols onto his chest and cape (both symbols were made by hand at a larger size, and then photocopied and shrunk to proper size), and TA-DA...an updated DC Universe Classics Superman!!!
