So, for a bit now, I've considered trying display pieces. Non poseable orders sometimes end up being my favorites to work on since I get to focus more on the details than making sure joints are still mobile. But I wasn't sure if my sculpting was up to par, and then there was the cost of shipping full display pieces. But, then this local piece entered my lineup. Fixing up a full display for She-Ra, with the Crystal Castle in the background. End result, it was fun to work on, but I don't think I want to heavily shift into such a thing right now.
First, the figure. BossFight body with an Enchantress head. Not the biggest fan of the face itself, but I love the look of the hair. Unfortunately, they've been a nightmare to separate. Doesn't matter here. Resculpted the head piece, the shirt, armor pieces, and collar. Bracers were from BossFight, heels were from Emma Frost, skirt was from an Infinite Heroes Mary Marvel, and the sword was a cast from AngelForge. Sculpted up the belt, cut and glued on the skirt, rounding out the back with sculpt. Sculpted the boots, resculpted the bracers a little bit, resculpted the sword some and added the gem. Cut some crafting cloth for the cape. After all that, a full repaint, and she was finished up.
Now, the display. Took a flat wood base and sculpted up the cracked ground. The display was to mirror that image of She-Ra on a cliff standing in front of the Castle in the distance, with it framing her. The entire castle was sculpted. Top to bottom. This is also why there is no direct shot of it. lol Some things are a little off, but She-Ra hides those pretty well. This is by far the most complex thing I've ever sculpted from scratch. Looking forward to trying more. Full repaint, and all done!
