So, I needed to take a slight break from my Superman related figures and do something a little different. Since I am also a fan of the classic DC character the Atom, I decided that I would make Ray Palmer's first costume (which he wore only for the first 2 issues) from the 1980s Power of the Atom series.

So, to do this figure, I took a DC Universe Classics Wave 5 Atom figure, and used the boil and pop method to remove his head. Next, I took the head from the DC Universe Classics Indigo Lantern Atom figure (which I had previously removed using the boil and pop method), and commenced a full repaint of the mask with Citadel Imrik Blue Dry paint and Testors Model Masters Burnt Sienna for the hair, followed by two generous coats of Flat Clear. Once the Flat Clear had finally dried, I again used the boil and pop method to reattach the head to the body, and TA-DA...the Atom in his first costume from the Power of the Atom series!!!
