Continuing with my cloth costumes I wanted to work on a larger figure to get a more bulky look. I'm quickly realizing that scale can be deceiving with cloth. the materials really add a scale inch almost to the thickeness of the figure. This costume was built with a "on the spot" modification to my template so it's not as completely form fitting as previous efforts have been. The base costume, trunks, and boot tops are all "no sew" welded, emblem is an iron on transfer done directly onto the figure. Boots are stretch fitted right over the foot and glued at the sole. The belt is an advancement I'm excited about. I sliced the best belt buckle off a DC Direct Superman and gluled it to a flat strip of styrene, made a mold and casted the belt out of black hot glue. I've got yellow hot glue sticks coming next week so I look foward to experimenting there as well. being hot glue I'm able to fasten the 2 ends on the back with a bit of heat. Head is an Iron Man 80 years Tony Stark head with the mustache shaved off. ![]() |
