I thought this one was going to be easy, but Methuselah was a little more of a pain than I had predicted. After making a Behemoth, I took apart a random triceratops figure. I removed the head and limbs of the dinosaur. Next I took a BAF head for Ares that came with a Wonder Woman figure. I used a gluegun to melt and reshape the "humanoid" face that was within the skull's jaws. The skull was attached to the body using a modified craft stick. I then attached the arms from a broken "Zilla" figure to the body of the triceratops. The legs are also from the Zilla, but I had to remove the middle portion of each leg. Basically, the feet are attached to the original legs' knees. Toothpicks wrapped with thin cardboard from a mountain dew 24 can box created the horns. I cut off the nose of the skull so that the lower jaw better matches the top jaw. The same cardboard was used to build the mountain on its back. Craft moss was then hot-glued to create the "forest". There was several "official" concept artwork available and this kaiju is not in the film very much, so this made it more difficult to build an "accurate" version. However, I am content with the scale match between Methuselah and the Japanese Bandai Godzilla. It is not perfect, but I think it works. Thanks for viewing! Please wait... |
