I’ve literally spent years working on this guy. It’s clear no company’s ever going to cover a property with Mel, but I frickin’ love this series. Used parts from Mattel’s WWE line, mostly NECA for above the torso and the boots (2 different Terminators, mind you) and cobbled together his skirt piece. The head was made by a guy in China who shrunk a 1/6 scale version of Mel’s Lethal Weapon appearance, and it really fits - mullet and all. I’m including a link to where you can find the head. All you have to do is ask him to paint it. It’s not cheap but totally worth it. This is my grail.

Thanks! It was kinda like the movies, putting the outfit together and all; at least 7 different figures. Black’s easier to work with than any other color I think. I put a lot of tan washes on him to make him look pretty sandy and age the leather. I actually made his shotgun too, but I’m displaying him with Evil Dead Ash’s for the moment. But yeah; he’s my favorite figure now. And no joke, it’s taken me years to complete. Started off with McFarlane’s Negan figure, and now I think the only part that’s his is the right shoulder.

Oh definitely, but the torso’s hollowed out and easily removable so that I can switch to Road Warrior if I wish (notice the leg braces). That skirt hides a lot of detail on the figure; a knife on the boot, his holster on the side of his leg, the pad and intricate rope work I did to keep the braces on the legs. McFarlane’s Negan Figure is the closest in terms of his jacket in RW, but the problem is that it’s so long that his legs look stumpy by comparison. I’ve fit mine in with NECA’s scale, and since Mel’s not a very tall guy, he comes right up to just below the top of the neck to my Deckard Figure.

You did a great job!! Keep up the amazing work. I need to look up the guy you used. I am working on my 2 holy grails at the moment. So I understand how you want it to be perfect.

Thanks! Honestly, I think I’m done customizing for the moment. I’ve got 3 I’m currently working on, but with NECA’s Back to the Future line coming out in the fall and then rounding out the Alien crew, there’s really not a whole lot more characters that I’m this passionate about. I’ve found that really motivates me, and if I don’t love a character, everything that goes into customizing becomes a chore pretty quick.

Right?! He started off as the Road Warrior (you can see from the braces on his legs) but I just love Thunderdome. I mean, 2 great pop songs, a soundtrack that was made by the guy who did Lawrence of Arabia, and Max and Tina at their finest. He’s the most complicated custom I’ve ever made and we should have a good version of him. And, I found an artist that really knew what he was doing.

I really hope everybody checks out this guy - Figuresky on eBay. He takes requests and was super nice about the whole thing. You can’t find a lot of people who can pull this off, but boy; he did. It opens the floodgates to so many figures we’ve all been wanting forever.
