I had a spare Millennium Falcon that I converted into Lando's. So just a rundown on how I did this - The radar dish and escape pod were from the Revell Falcon kit from Solo. I removed the old radar dish, filed down the peg and drilled a hole so the new dish could fit. It sits in there firmly and can still rotate. The escape pod was cut accordingly so it could fit between the mandibles. I didn't want to, but for it to fit I had to file down the engine part of the escape pod, so its just the outer shell. I thought I could get the escape pod to eject when I fired the missile but it's not that strong unfortunately. The escape pod is removable however. I spray painted the ship with Rust Oleum Perfect Gray. For the markings I used Citadel Macragge Blue, also using painter's tape to get the lines straight. I also cut up some pieces of styrene sheet and covered the exposed panels (minus one) and also sprayed them with Perfect Gray. With the exception of two, I was able to fit them in. The others I had to superglue into place. Because this is Lando's Falcon, I wanted it to have a clean look. If I left it, the ship would have been too white (think Revell kit white). I took a dark gray and very lightly drybrushed the ship. This way it's not overdone but there's some color to it. ![]() |
