After seeing how Crisco solved the question of how to make a Mek-A-Nek custom that had an extended neck, I couldn't wait to do one of my own. Cracked open my 200x MOTU Mek-a-Nek and used his upper torso. For his lower legs and right arm, I used a LCBH Super Patriot variant, and the right arm of the regular LCBH Super Patriot. To me the most recent version of the character reminded me of Machine Man from Marvel. So I painted him in metallic colors. First a base coat of chrome and then the metallic blue from Folk art, and a clear coat red from Testor's. I used an extra Sentinel tentacle for the neck like Crisco but was unable to attached as he had done, so I took a small tube and fit one end over his original neck and the other end I fitted the tentacle and gave that a little bit of silver paint. It is easy to put on and take off. I did discover that the 200x Motu Mek-a-Nek's head is actually two pieces. It maybe worth coming back to later on and seeing if I can try wiring him to light up but, that maybe hard to do when his head is removable for switching neck purposes.. Thanks for looking! Comments and feedback always appreciated. ![]() |

For some reason though, the colors make me think of GI Joe's (Cobra's) Scrap Iron
