Hi everyone. This is "L&L Horror Toys" from Argentina. This time I introduce you to "Hellboy", a character from the great artist Mike Mignola. Because the original figures of this line of "mezco" were very difficult to find in my country (and the few that could be found were inaccessible) I decided that I could make my own Hellboy figures. And now I have my own complete collection (which you can find in the works published in my profile). Thanks to a good friend lending me the original figure, I was able to carefully observe the amazing details of it and thus achieve the same finish. As my idea with this collection was to have the mezco figures that I couldn't get, I respected the brand's designs but took the liberty of matching the proportions of each figure with the original design from the comics. For this reason, with this particular figure the proportions were reduced compared to the Mezco figure, respecting Mignola's initial design. This gave consistency to the entire collection in terms of the measurements and heights of the characters (I promise to upload photos of the entire collection later). As for the recipe, for this particular figure I had to be resourceful and creative, as the Hellboy from the comics has a large torso with large arms and smaller hips and legs. To achieve this, simply use parts of the legs of a WWE figure (groin and thigh) from the shoulder to the middle of the biceps. Then from the middle of the bicep down are the arms of a wwe fighter that I had to extend with a metal soul to match the ratio I wanted to achieve. For the knee joints I used the leftover leg pieces that I used for the arms. As for the torso, this is a solid piece of putty sculpted by myself (as I had no torsos to match my general idea in proportions). I had to redesign the shoulder inserts (as the shoulders I put on were originally groins). There are pieces like the head, the "hand of destiny", the left hand, the weapons and accessories that I had to sculpt completely. Then I re-sculpted the entire figure with the same two-part epoxy putty. Finally, I painted everything with my own acetonic-based painting technique with details in acrylic and watercolors. I hope you like it. This is the eigth figure of this collection that I publish. If you are interested in seeing more images of the finished work, visit my next post "Hellboy — Mezco Version [Fully Sculpted] # 2 (Completed work)". And if you are interested in seeing more photos of this or other works, follow me or write me on my networks! I will wait for you! Greetings! ![]() |
