D-Compose - Inhumanoids (Inhumanoids) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:11197
Name:D-Compose - Inhumanoids
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Inhumanoids
Creator:Hammer of the Gods
Date Added:December 3, 2008
Base Figure:Icons Venom
Height:12.00 inches
This is the second in the inhumanoids unbound line i'm working on. D-compose is lord of the undead and can turn his victims into mutated, corpse-like pawns with a single touch or trap foes inside his exposed "rib cage". Back in the day when this cartoon was airing, kids really freaked out over him because of his creepy powers. For the update, i wanted to loose the childish colors and really amp the horror vibe with lots of exposed muscle and random boney spikes pushing through his rotting flesh. I'm a big fan of zombie movies so this was fun to do. - body from icons venom
- head is actually a hand from a snakemen skeletor with venom's teeth incorporated
- feet and spikes from resident evil william
- open wounds/exposed muscle created with sculpty
- rib cage created with sculpty (they open and close with hinges a made from scratch)
- exposed spine created by making a mold of the vintage figure's spine and modifying the cast
- hand painted with acrylics

two down, one to go. Up next: tendril (i'm having trouble coming up with a good base so this one could take a while - stay tuned).

When the custom(s) are better than the ones sold in stores, you know (Hammer of the Gods) that your custom skills are the new Kung-Fu. You truly have the GLOW!

I've been thinking about treebeard quite a bit actually. He would be a lot taller than my Metlar and D-Compose and I'd really like them to be around the same size. Still, certain parts from him could be made to work...
Thanks for the suggestions.

If I may say, that is an excellent suggestion. If you can manage to grab one I too think that the Treebeard would probably be a good base for Tendril. It's basic shape is great and it is something like 14 or 15 inches tall, which would be rad!

First off, these are stunning!
Truly awe inspiring creations.
Second, may I suggest a LotR Treebeard fig for Tendril.
It should offer a lot of amorphous shape as well as giving a cool lanky look which may work in your update style.
Again I say, WOW!

WOW! holy crud! Great job, man! One of my most wanted toys that I never had! This one beats Metlar by a mile, and Metlar was pretty much awesome!
I'd suggest something like those 15 inch tall Rotocast Godzilla figures from Bandai for Tendril. You can find em at ToysRUs and they run about 15 bucks. You want something bulky and bulbous for Tendril, because he wasn't as buff as the other guys. But then these are your own take on things, so you may see him a whole other way.
Either way, I'm looking forward to more great stuff! Keep up the good work!!!

Hammer....darn! That is wicked! I am so blown away of your whole re-imagining of this 80's cartoon. Very astounding on what you have created here and can't wait for the third big man to make his appearance.

These are really fantastic. I remember the Inhumanoids being a back up comic in Transformers or maybe Action Force in the UK in the 80's. They stopped the series right as the female member of Earth Corps got D-composed. That cliffhanger had me on the edge until they came up with the internet and I could finally find out how it ended.
Tendril is really going to be a challenge, but you might want to look into a Cthulhu figure or something for some tentacles.

D'Compose was the only Inhumanoid I wanted as a kid...which may say a lot about me. But this one takes the original back behind the shed and beats the crud out it in front of its grandparents!

Thanks all - I'm really proud of this one.
In regards to making more Inhumanoids outside of the big 3, I have the parts collected for Blackthorne Shore and have found some unused package art for a Night Crawler figure that would have appeared in series 2 of the toy line if it had made it that far (so he will be made with Blackthorne).
I also would like to do one of each species of Mutores (the tree and rock based guys) but don't want to get to far ahead of myself, as Tendril presents some customizing challenges. I could use some help brainstorming potential base figs so if you have any ideas please share them.

Great job. I was also wondering if you were going to do the heroic monsters(their names escape me right now)? Anyway this is an awsome figure.

Wicked, Cool, Gnarly, um and every other 80's phrase of praise. Great Job. Do you have plans for the other Inhumanoids and Mutores? I would love to see what you do with the nightcrawler character aka Dr. Herman Manglar.
