Painting this figure felt liberating in a way. As far as I know the JoyToy line has no continuity; they're all just original action figures. This one was just a repaint. I added some weathering to the armor, repainted the helmet visor, and repainted his head. Posing this guy is an absolute pleasure. It was a lot of fun working with a blank slate, giving him his own backstory, and making this character up as I painted him. I decided on the name after I painted him. I was reading Gawain and The Green Knight, and the name "The Red Knight" just fit. perhaps there's a whole court of colorful knights who ride on the backs of alien creatures.
