Another impromptu design, I wanted to recycle an old model and refurbish it.

I orinally printed this moon shaped castle a few years ago and it sat on my desk. However, after doing some cleaning, I found these little Star Wars fighter ships from an old Battleship like game that didn't work anymore. Fortunately they were in almost perfect scale with the castle and with all the new SW material coming out, it gave me the idea to turn the castle into a Rebel Alliance outpost.

The castle itself had originally been hit with a textured spay paint to make it feel gritty and dandy before being painted brown which was perfect. To give it more age and wear, I added giant mushrooms,some green paint for moss, added vegetation bushes and hit it with some dark washes to get into the cracks.

After that it just adding bit and pieces to make it look like a sci-fi outpost. Everything came from the fodder bin, antennas, crates, barrels and other assorted little pieces. Then the fighter ships were painted and added to various landing platforms and racks. Afterwards, everything was sealed to help protect the paint.

Model measures about 9 inches long, 5 inches wide and about 8 inches tall.
