This figure represents one of the few important characters from "Hamtaro" that didn't see an official figure release.

I started by chopping off the head of a hard-plastic Chinese knock-off Hamtaro figure from the company XLC (the official ones by Epoch are rubber. The XLC ones use the same molds and may have been officially licensed as well. Terrible quality though). A strip of vinyl was added around the head, and dots of glue were applied to that viny to simulate the sheet metal and rivets. I did this lower down on the body as well. The body was made from stacked acrylic, carved down to the right shape. The colored dots on the side of the body are the heads of pins. The wheel and chest emblem are laser cut acrylic. The arms are also laser cut, made up of miniscule pieces of various shapes all stacked up on one another. I embedded three brass rods in these stacks for fingers. The circular details in the ears were laser engraved before cutting out the perimeter circle. Those especially are tiny.

I've never been great at detail painting, as seen in my previous customs from years ago. This figure posed a great challenge, as the figure is 1" tall. That said, I think I ended up with a decent paint job. Definitely fun working in this scale.
