This is my custom Solid Snake Action Figure from Metal Gear Solid 1. I always wanted a Solid Snake action figure. Not being too happy with the one they released over a decade ago, I decided to make my own. I wanted it to be as good as *I* could make it. As this was my first custom figure, I think it turned out okay. I used Marvel Legends Hawkeye as the base for the legs and Killmonger for the upper torso. A LOT of sanding and sculpting with greenstuff. The head is a Constantine sculpt painted by me. I also painted and printed as many of the weapons/items from the game as I could, stealing and repainting things like the grenades. The Stinger Missile Launcher was a joy to paint. I have SO many more photos (some chronicling the creation), but can only upload 4. I hope I get to share them in the future. Anyways,I hope you guys enjoy it! Please wait... |

Pew-Pew!
The first head I used was a Keanu Reeves Constantine sculpt. I made the cigarette removable by first cutting it off, drilling a hole, then using a painted paperclip as a substitute. I decided to go with a DIFFERENT Constantine headsculpt as Keanu was too recognizable even with sanded features. This sculpt has a permanent cigarette, but the paintjob on this one came out better.
"Why not just do the same thing to this sculpt to have a removable cigarette?" you ask.
To which I reply, "Shut up."
Solid Snake
Holding the Iconic PSG-1 Sniper Rifle and looking stoic as ever. I sculpted the thigh-holster as I couldn't find on that matched. Also I'm REALLY happy with how those knee (and elbow) pads came out. The shoulder grommets were made with toothpicks and drilling holes
Solid Snake with Weapons/Items and BackDrop
I could have made the backdrop without any lights but I'm a masochist.
The upper portion is held in place with magnets for disassembly. Why? Cause it's cool.
I constructed/ordered/painted as many of the items and weapons in the game as I could. Shout out to ShrunkenStructures on Etsy for providing the door.
Ammo Check
I think this is a decent full-body shot.
The bandana was made by sanding the sides of the head and sculpted with greenstuff. The bandana-tails can rotate and the shoulder-pads can move independently from the arms and vest. I really wanted this figure to have bendy-toes but after my 3rd failed attempt, I got sick of making those little shoe nubbies and stuck with the original boots I modded.
