I am really happy with how this one turned out. I tried something new and it could not have gone any better. For the skirting, I was considering using craft foam but felt it would end up being too bulky to look right. I remembered seeing yellow duct tape at Wally World and went to buy some. In the same area was painter's tape and lo and behold, they make it now in yellow (and blue and purple and green.) I liked its texture better than what the duct tape's was so I tried it. For Mantis, this tape hit the trifecta. 1. Doubled oved it was still the perfect thickness. 2. It took to the glue wonderfully on first contact, not slippy-slidey to drive me nuts. And 3. The yellow of the tape just about perfectly matched the Vallejero yellow paint I use. The antenna are trimmed pieces of craft foam.
