I decided to make Flying Mario from Super Mario Galaxy. While not a favorite powerup at all, I figured I'd make it as I have a bunch of extra parts just laying around.

I took the figure apart, masked off the arms/shirt, as well as the peg holes so I could reattach the figure easily. I sprayed it with Citadel Chaos Black, then repainted the hat, shoes and buttons on the overalls. Lastly I reattached the figure.

The body I used is any standard Mario from Jakks Pacific, but used a Fire Mario head instead. The original head didn't seem like it was down all the way. I swapped it with Fire Mario's head just to see if it would fit better, and does. The white hat would be easier to cover with the black paint, plus it had some marks on it anyway. I wanted Mario to have the open mouth expression like in the photo as well.
