ML Dr. Strange body (Hulkbuster wave) Boots and gloved forearms from one of the ML figures based on the Bucky Cap mold Head from the DCUC Dr. Mid-Nite This was a little more difficult than my current crop of straight kitbashed repaints because of the jacket skirt. At first I was going to try using the one from the DCUC Dr. Mid-Nite but after studying it in hand decided it wasn't going to work very well going onto this smaller framed base body. I put off making him until I could figure out what else to use. One day on a casual toy hunt I saw a Mattel WWE female figure with a suit jacket on. I can't remember the name of the figure because I'm not that familiar with the WWE line. Anyway I took a chance and bought it hoping I can cut the suit jacket up to use the lower part for Mid-Nite's jacket skirt. With a lot of trial and error I finally got it to work. The cape is sort of rough being it's the first time I tried making my own wired cape. I usually buy 3rd party wired fabric capes but almost all of them are made to be big and flowing for dramatic poses so they usually drape down dragging far onto the ground when the figure is posed in more neutral stances, and they don't always make them in the color I need. So I had to try making my own due to preferring the cape to be sized the way that factory plastic capes are sized to the figure. I only used one layer of fabric and fabric glue so it's letting through more light than I would like, and my attempt at a double layered cape looked too thick and bulky so I'll live with this for now and plan to replace it when I get better at cape making. He's part of my ongoing effort to make ML compatible versions of my DC must have characters. ![]() |
