Top Spin (Transformers) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:11745
Name:Top Spin
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Transformers
Creator:rpetras
Date Added:December 31, 2008
Base Figure:Red Power Ranger
Height:6.00 inches
Top Spin was a "Jumpstarter" from the old G1 line, which meant that his transform was basically to fold him in half. Silly basic figure that he was, he (and Twin Twist) were always 2 of my favorites. When I saw Shinobitron's version that he posted a while back I knew I had to "borrow" the recipe.

I did a little different version for the detail on the head, using a modified Astrotrain noggin. And I left the original arms since I really liked the way they held the blades, it offered a lot of posability, and if you leave the blades in, you can fold them back to get a good resemblance to his G1 arms.

Finished off with an autobot symbol from reprolabels.

This guy proudly sits with my TF Classics Collection.

From the original Tech Spec:
No mountain high enough, no river wide enough to stop this one robot wrecking crew. Has superior mobility due to his Cybertronic vehicular form. Views conquest of rough terrain as much a victory as beating Decepticons. Uses 2 rear jet engines to go 300mph... goes 80mph on water with 2 front pontoons... has 2 hi-voltage electric cannons and 2 hand lasers built in... carries a powerful twin ion impulse blaster.

Awesome custom. Great choice of a base figure...I didn't realize a power rangers vehicle could look so cool.

Operation Overdrive
rpetras, really nice job on this. For a Power Ranger, the alt mode is weird, but for Top Spin, it's perfect! These guys always needed an upgrade, nice to see one given.
Thanks for the comment, as well as remembering the right set of Power Rangers!
I just remember they were the ones on sale for $4 when I picked it up. :-)
I do remember there was both a green & red ranger available with the same mold though, if anyone looking for base figures.
