Scarecrow is one of my favourite villains and I wanted something to go with my Batman 1989 custom and other movie related figures. Scarecrow in Arkham Asylum is probably my favourite version but I decided to go with this version: following a suggestion from a fellow customising friend. Batman Exhoes is a comic series with a ‘What If?’ Batman 1989 continued past Batman Returns with Jeff Goldblum playing Dr Crane, Madonna playing Harley Quinn and Billy Dee Williams reprising his Harvey Dent Role etc. Honestly it seems like they used Batman Triumphant (the original script for the 5th Batman film which Arkham Knight takes inspiration from) as a template and its a brilliant concept.

So for the figure I used a 90s animated Scarecrow for the hands and head/ hat and sythe handle. Batman Returns Bruce Wayne body, Mad-Eye Moody’s lower trench coat and parts of his broom for the upper sythe handle and Batman Forever Bruce Wayne boots and then I sculpted over the entire thing and added Jon Snow’s cloak massively trimmed down and tattered. Sculpting his head was the hardest part under that large brimmed hat and I used fodder for the hay sticking out on his costume and hand sculpted the sythe blade etc.
I made his hat a lot larger and sculpted each detail of his body etc. the button eyes and string holding the mask together were very challenging to get right and for the button holes. He’s a little bulky this was Kenner 90s style inspired so I’m happy with the result and Scarecrow is looking intimidating and ready to show us our darkest fears! Thanks for having a look!
