Concept: The GI Joe High Adventure Electric Trucking set was a “race car” style set which included HO (and other small scaled) vehicles. The playset featured a play mat, plus a cardboard backdrop and buildings. Part of the Cobra base interior featured artwork of a computer room with people standing around. This was an early 80’s computer room, with refrigerator-sized computers. They featured reel-to-reel data storage and blinky buttons (like some of the Star Trek TOS bridge displays). Design: I’ve taken the basic design and updated, but kept it simplistic enough to be a cardboard cutout. There are still six (let’s call them) work stations, but now featuring what could be touch screen displays. With some reel-to-reel and blinky buttons imagery thrown in, of course. And, say, is that BIOK from the horrible DiC cartoon on one of the screens? Why, yes, it is. Colors & Paint: Pulled from the printed Cobra base artwork from the Tyco set. The live area is 5”x10”, so that it fits on the bottom of a 90’s GI Joe footlocker inset tray. This set includes 3 inset trays side-by-side to create a room. Thanks for looking. ![]() |
