Cobra Command

Characters:

The Tyco Electric Trucking set came with a cardboard Cobra Command base. It was loaded with illustrations. One of them was of an information center, an early 80’s computer room. Standing in it (as part of the artwork) were several characters wearing business attire (the man was wearing a bus driver hat, but I’m ignoring that). Never intended to be anything but background doodles, I’m elevating them to figure status and naming them “Logistics Vipers”.

What a filecard might say:

Logistics Vipers are the bland shipping, supply, and information arm of Cobra Command. Although they possess the nimble mindset necessary to shuffle large amounts of people and things with precision, Shuffle Vipers lack the paramilitary training the rest of Cobra’s Vipers divisions receive, making their “viper” suffix a joke. They are rarely seen by other vipers, but uniformly looked down upon by them. Despite being “office lizards”, they provide a utilitarian but invaluable service. Their management system quietly set the model for Tele-Vipers, Data-Vipers, and even the exalted Crimson Guard- but none of them would ever admit it.

Design & Colors:

These are simple suit figures, painted in black and Cobra blue, with some Toxhax decals placed as armbands. The armbands give them a smidge of sinister. All of the heads are repainted with different hair colors and skin tones to disguise them as much as possible. The Tina Fey head is repainted with blonde hair, which manages to look like Candace Bergen. The Amy Poehler head is given a darker skin tone and darker hair. A female Shark Tank figure has a Lori Greiner head, now with red hair. The male Shark Tank figures uses an Ace head with grey hair.

Sculpting & Modifying:

None on these, aside from epoxy hiding the knee pins on the female Shark Tank body.
