My first submission! Pretty simple mod but I searched and haven't seen anyone else do it here so I thought I'd go ahead and do it. Ya gotta start somewhere!

There are a bunch of non-mainstream Marvel characters from the 70's that I'm a big fan of and the original Deathlok from Astonishing Tales was one of my faves. When I got into collecting the ML figs and I saw that they did a Deathlok I thought; "Cool!". When I got one and saw that they had attached his gun to his chest I thought; "What the..?!" I dug out my original Astonishing Tales with Deathlok and saw that it was indeed wrong. In the comics Deathlok had a flag patch on his chest but it was on his right breast - the ML fig didn't have any flag even though the pic from ToyBiz shows one. My mod does not make him "correct" but I think it looks way better than the figure was.

I simply used an exacto knife to slice the end of the tube attached to his chest as close as possible, hit the area with a light grain sand paper and cleaned the area with soap and water.

Since my painting skills are still being developed I decided to try a model decal for the flag patch. I found a pic of a Old Glory on the web, popped it into my Adobe PS, shrunk it down and then printed it on to a sheet of Testor's White Decal Paper and let it sit for an hour. Then over the next 2 hours I applied about 6 coats of Krylon Crystal Clear sealer giving it about 20 minutes between coats to let it dry. I cut it super close, dropped the decal into some clear water for 5 secs and then using tweezers got the decal into position on his chest covering the spot where the tube had connected. The final touch was to hit it with a light coat of Testor's Decal Sealer just getting a little over the edges to make sure it was sealed down to Deathlok's chest nice and tight.

1-8-07: Got a better camera so I thought I'd update my pics of this! Enjoy!

Yup, lots of figures look great after fixing the little annoying imperfections they have!

Simple and very effective. Good fix. I thought that gun cable in the chest thing was a pretty stupid freaking idea too. I may have to do this to mine
