Former children that roam the halls of Midwich Elementary School, and the grounds of Lakeshore Amusement Park, in Konami's 1999 Playstation Silent Hill video game. Killing or harming a child, even a demonic one, is understandably controversial, so this particular monster was cut from the game in some regions and replaced with Clawfingers/Mumblers (the North American version, which is what I own, has both diminutive creature species). ABILITIES: These hideously-deformed children slash their intended prey with the knives they always carry. Child #3s also favor latching onto a victim's leg, immobilizing the individual until he or she can manage to shake themselves free--this tactic works especially well when there are two or more of the fiends, as one will hold the target while the others attack with their blades. A group of them can easily overwhelm a person in this fashion, particularly if they manage to trap him or her in a corner. Most adults are reluctant to harm children, even monstrous ones; this natural hesitation often works to the advantage of these small killers. WEAKNESSES: These juveniles toddle about at a leisurely pace and can be outmaneuvered with relative ease. While stronger and more damage-resistant than a normal, human child of the same size, these monsters are still relatively weak in comparison to a healthy adult. Materials: Newsprint, Kleenex, cardboard, paper toweling, white/hot glue, plastic, and paint. Dimensions: 15.7 cm/6.2 in. x 11.0 cm/4.3 in. (highest point x widest point) Time: Two days; July 18 and 19, 2005. ![]() |
