X3 Angel (Marvel Legends) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:15299
Name:X3 Angel
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel Legends
Creator:Icemantong
Date Added:June 7, 2009
Base Figure:X2 Cyclops
Height:6.00 inches
I was very disappointed that Angel didn't wear his X-men uniform in the Last Stand and hence a figure of him was not issued. So I was adamant to produce my own.

I began by buying a hard to find figure of the X2 movie of cyclops. I removed his head and replaced it with one of the Bird of Prey Angel figure. Next I drilled two holes in the back of the figure and romoved the wings off the old Angel and placed them in the drilled holes. Since the piping in the leather uniform was unlike Cyclops' from the movie I figured that the blue and silver would be perfect for Angel, so no painting was required.

Hope you like and pleeease leave feedback, I would like to hear what you think of my works :)
Thanks.

nice! been lookin to do one like this for a while. Are the wings movable? caus I tried twice and wasn´t able to get the wings poseable, yet firmly attached. Regarding the banshee custom you asked me about..well, at the time I made it, I didn´t own a dremmel, so I just cut the wings to reshape them and attached them with superglue. Kinda lousy. I am making another one as a request, this time with a dremmel, to use the whole wings. I would recommend you to do the same.Hope this helped. And if you tell me a little about wing attachement, I´d appreciate it. Can´t get enough X-movie customs...keep ´em comin´!

Thanks for the advice! The dremmel option sounds like the best one, ill try that first. Ill be sure to post up my custom once I'm done with it.

As for my Angel figure, I first drilled holes in his back and tried to fit the wings in, they held and were able to move but were very unstable and kept popping out for me due to their weight. After a while a I decided to put super glue in the holes. The wings are now firmly fixed but movement is reduced. I can't rotate the wings but they can move back and front,I was lucky that the superglue didn't seep into the swivel joints of the wings.
(On a side note, the weight of the wings makes it difficult to make the figure stand up, but I love how the figure turned out)

I too am a fan of X-movie figures and am impressed by your custom collection!!

oh, do excuse me for the second post and question, but, which neck did you use for angel? and by the way, thank you very much for the reply, you just gave me a great idea. The wings on my figure were reforced in the inside with milliput, but the weight makes them go down..But, if I apply superglue carefully from the inside, like in the tutorial on how to tighten loose joints..well, perhaps that´ll do!! I´ll try that tonight. If you see my angel posted in a few days, you will know it did work. Thank you very much, mate!

No problem at all, love to be of assistance.

As for the neck, the original body belonged to Cyclops. I just popper that head completely off but that included the neck as well. So to solve the problem I sawed off the neck of the Bird of Prey Angel attached to the head and super glued that into the cavity in the X-uniform. I can still move Angel's head from side to side but not so much up and down.

Best of luck with the customization! Looking forward to seeing your result!

Recently I found a way to use the spare Bird of Prey Angel body to make a Havok figure which fits well into my X-movie collection. Ill be sure to post images of that figure soon.
