Ash Williams (Army of Darkness) Custom Action Figure
This was certainly a passion project for me. I (and countless numbers of one-liner fans) fell in love with Ash's character in Evil Dead 2. The attitude and weaponry were wicked awesome. So I decided to make an Ash for my display. I used the head, neck, left hand and boots from the NECA Medieval Ash. I literally cut the entire neck and collar bone out of the NECA Ash and implanted it into the Apollo's (Battlestar) upper torso. Talk about a dremel-fest. I sanded down a lot of areas including the shoulders and chest area. Then, I used Apoxy Sculpt to recreate the medieval shirt Ash dons in Army of Darkness. I sculpted the belt as well. The right mechanical hand was taken from a ML Mr. Sinister and then painted black and dry-brushed silver. The strap for the boom-stick holster came from Sinister's cape strands. Everything was painted with Model Master Acryl paints....Ahhh yes the glorious chainsaw hand. This was relatively easy to do. I used a Movie Maniacs Texas Chainsaw Massacre chainsaw. I cut the back handle off and sanded it flat. I then painted it Insignia Red and flat black where needed (also dry-brushed black). I used the original top handle for the side handle and a random piece of fodder for the side handle. I also added a pull chord ( made of string and plastic) but I'm not sure if you can see it. I used a small strand from Sinister's cape to make the circular metal ring that connects the saw to Ash. To get the mechanical arm and saw to fit I cut off the wrist pegs of a Narnia King Peter's hands and superglued them to the saw and mechanical hand. Now I have a fully articulated bubble gum chewing hard case who may be low on gas, but is ready to kick some....tail. Whew! Hope you guys like him. Please wait... |

Its an awesome figure.
any tips on the pants? (would the movie masters scarecrow pants work?)
ill probably just keep him as is. The only big problem with the figure is he can't hold the gun good and his legs done move.
ill have to find a figure with good tan pants to use for him.
I got the mcfarlane and I'm thinking about customizing him
got any tips?
