Mentor is a super-intelligent member of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard, possibly an android or cyborg. Mentor's processes vast amounts of information at superhuman speeds. He can calculate the weakest spots of any given opponent and focus his attacks on them. He can fly through an anti-gravity device built within his costume. Longevity:Though not hinted at previous stories, "Uncanny X-Men" #479 (December, 2006) depicts him as several centuries old. A flashback to a centuries-old battle between the founding members of the Imperial Guard and a Phoenix host called Rook'shir was depicted.
