After seeing the movie Pathfinder the other evening, I began to think of what if Thor looked more like a dark, gritty, warlord Viking than his bright primary colored Marvel counter part. Plus I have been wanting to make a Thor custom for a while. The Hasbro Thor was the perfect base since it already had much of the armor I wanted in its sculpt. I used the fore arms and shoulder pads from a World of Warcraft figure that I have been pulling fodder off of for a few of my previous customs, chain mail from a Realm of the Claw figure Nakuru, that I have used for my Battle Cats and Panthors. Sculpted the helmet over the usual Thor skull cap to look more accurate like the Norse Viking wore and moved the wings lower down on the helmet. Shaved off the beard which I have been wanting to do after seeing SilayJoker's battle armor Thor. Shin armor is foamie sheet, earphone wire and epoxy. Painted him in browns, pewter, and some gold. Used the cape that came with the base figure with minor adjustments to fit over the new shoulder pads. The cape is removable. I needed some lightning so I used some twist ties painted metallic blue. They will do until I get some kick a$$ bolts from Stevid. Thanks for looking. Comments and Feedback are always welcomed. ![]() |

Good job all around!
I use foamies quite frequently.
And I used twist-ties on my Dr. Manhattan custom also painted metallic blue.
Thanks guys, it was a fun one for me... and really pretty simple once I got the gauntlets on..
I am curious though - what's the name (or at least rough description) of the World of Warcraft figure you got the gauntlets from? Those look perfect for a custom I have in the works.
