Couldn't believe someone actually tossed out a perfectly decent Walkie-talkie Hulk figure. There it was, just laying in a recycle bin, waiting for reincarnation...as a custom!
Sure, it was a ridiculously big toy, probably had a bit more walkie than talkie in it, but the figure was well made, just needed some TLC. Got rid of the mid-torso, it was too rigid, and left the Hulk looking like a walkie-talkie. So replaced the crotch area with a WWE figure, and put the feet back on. Resculpted the hair, added veins and muscle def, filled in the elbow joints and repaired the back (where the battery was)all with apoxie.
The paint apps turned out more detailed than expected and was alotta fun - just tried to churn out layers after layers of green, experimenting with different shades of (cucumber,watermelon skin,lime)color. Wanted to make the skin look alive, radioactive and invulnerable, using circular brushstrokes, rolling the brush in a sponge effect - whatever way worked to get the desired look.
His physique had to be ripped, but needed to go beyond human proportions - after all Hulk is still more monster than man.
