Eddie Van Halen (Musicians) Custom Action Figure
Custom #: | 19714 | Name: | Eddie Van Halen | Custom Type: | Action Figure | Toy Series: | Musicians | Creator: | Bamf67 | Date Added: | February 2, 2010 | Base Figure: | Captain Marvel, Toby Maguire Head | Height: | 6.50 inches |
My son wanted me to do an Eddie Van Halen Figure for him. I started with a Toby Maguire head from the first Spiderman movie and I flattened the nose a little bit. I used a Captain Marvel base and sculpted some overalls and bandana. I had to trim the "giraffe" neck. It's still a little bit too long, but I trimmed all I could without doing damage to the neck peg. I sculpted some hair and painted. The base is an Identity Crisis base that has a VH logo photo glued and sealed over it. The real challenge was the guitar. I made it out some bamboo back scratcher I found at the dollar store. I used a bench grinder and Dremel to make the shape of the guitar and then did a lot of sanding, then painted and "Voila", one guitar. The guitar strap is just some black elastic with some hooks on the ends. I'm giving this to my son for his birthday. Let me know what you think. Please wait... |

Great Work you Did Here Your Son Should Love It.
Great work! This is the first Eddie custom that I've ever seen. Man, I've been trying to figure out for the longest time what head to use for an Eddie. I keep going through my stash of fodder and I just don't have anything that would work. The Tobey Maguire head was an excellent choice, I never would have thought to use that one. I WILL DEFINITELY BE RIPPING THAT IDEA OFF I already have the hair and the body parts that I intend to use, but they are not quite as "buff" as the base figure you used.
