His battles hard fought, his victories many: Hal Jordan was the last of the Lanterns to fall. Now, the children of many sectors learn of Earth's mightiest human hero only in stories considered legend. Recipe: DCUC Kyle Rayner DCUC Batman (Boots and resculpted forearms/right hand) DCUC Walmart 5-pack Hal Jordan (head) Acetone (any type from the hardware store - mine of "Home" brand) While disassembling a DC Universe Kyle for this project (to make a black lower hands/feet GL) - I noticed something interesting: The Forearms and hands of the DCUC Kyle figure were cast at the factory in the same plastic as his sword construct accessory. Using acetone and napkins (they have a finer grain to them, and leave less drag marks than paper towel or linen) - I wiped the factory paint off of left hand. (If you're using Acetone in a garage like I was, *use a good filter mask*: That stuff is so very toxic!) To infer that and elderly Hal lost his hand in a battle long ago - I attached a stack of magnets to Hal's left construct-hand, and x2 within the hollowed out/resculpted Batman forearm, allowing for hand-less display, or different constructs later on. I also transplanted a GL ring on to the black right hand. After sculpting over all the peg holes on this figure, I painted the black suit with Tamiya flat black, and his hair with various shades of white/gray - actually using the Alex Ross Superman as a visual reference. I sealed all the joints with liquid type Krazy glue (particularly the area that the sword-construct attaches to) the whole figure with Vallejo matte Varnish. The boots and gloves recieved an additional coat of Vallejo Glossy varnish. -Blayne ![]() |
