A couple of years ago I started getting into collecting old figures from the Big Jim's P.A.C.K. line from the 70s. They are expensive and hard to find in nice condition. So I decided to challenge myself to make a custom set in the mego style for under 100 bucks. There are six characters in the line so I headed over to CTVT (who have the most inexpensive mego knock offs) and began my quest. With some research and patience I managed to not only complete the project under budget but also stockpiled a lot of parts and soft goods for future endeavors. This process of weeding through the current catalog of available parts and trying to imagine what the finished product would look like was a lot of fun. Warpath was known as Chief Tankua in an earlier incarnation of the Big Jim line, where he was described on the box art as, "Big Jim's Indian Friend." With the arrival of the P.A.C.K. line he got himself a big black hat and became Warpath, where the box art described him as, "Silent Stalker. Swift. Sure. Explosive with a bow!" For those that may be interested I feel obligated to mention that the box art for the P.A.C.K. series was drawn by the deft hand of Jack Kirby, and is fantastic! Warpath uses a Western Heroes Sitting Bull head. All of his clothes and accessories are CTVT. He was painted with Model Masters Acryl and sealed with Mod Podge. Thanks for looking! ![]() |
