Since we never got a figure of Gerard Christopher as Superboy in the Superboy/Adventures of Superboy TV Series, I set about creating us one.

I removed the head from a Crisis Superboy body, and having had an extra Smallville Series 1 Clark Kent head lying about, I began the long modification process to meld the two pieces into one figure (I used the Smallville Series 1 Clark Kent head mostly because there is a slight resemblance between Gerard Christopher and Tom Welling, and I thought once repainted, that the head would be more Christopher and less Welling).

First, I used my Dremel to excavate out a new hole in the head and also remove the small portion of neck from it so that the head and the Superboy figure's neck could fit together nicely and neatly. I next added a bit of Milliput to the neck to build it up slightly and enable it to fit properly. As soon as the Milliput had dried, I sanded it smooth, and used my Dremel to remove the ball portion of the Superboy's neck peg, leaving a cylindrical post. I then jammed a glob of Milliput into the newly excavated head cavity and then pushed the cylindrical neck post in it to create a new peg hole. Once the Milliput had dried, I repainted the neck and hands. While I waited for those portions of the body to dry, I used a tiny speck of Milliput to create the spitcurl on the head, and when that had dried, I repainted the ENTIRE head, hair and all, until the skin of the head then matched the repainted skin of the neck and hands. Once all paint was dry, I glued the head in place atop the neck.

Lastly, I slapped on new chest and cape symbols with a little glue (both symbols were made by hand at a larger size, and then photocopied and shrunk to proper size), and TA-DA...Superboy from the TV Series Superboy/Adventures of Superboy!!!!

Please let me know what you guys think of him, and as always, comments are appreciated.

Cheers man. I love that series. I rewatched it again as all the episodes are on DVD, and when Gerard Christopher was on screen, he lit it up as Superboy. I wish more people knew about this series and actually gave it a shot.

Few years too late but great custom. This was my childhood and my superboy. I would love to make one like you did.

Vash, I know what you mean. This was my Saturdays and Sundays back during my 4 years of high school. I loved this show. I made this back when the first season got released on DVD in 2006, and it took me 5 years to post the figure. I'm glad that you liked my take on Gerard Christopher's version of the Boy of Steel, and I look forward to seeing yours. BTW, you should check out the companion figure I made of this, my TV Series Lana Lang. For that one, I was able to actually use a Stacy Haiduk head.
