Hey all, here's the latest one, he's actually a re-purpose of my He-man I did a while ago. I'm working on a He-man V2 and needed some parts off the original so I was left with a bare body and figured why not. Even though the figure was already painted I decided to repaint it so I could add some deeper shadows. This actually took me backwards as he was nearly done but there were rough spots (such as the visible blue between the upper leg cut joint) I just had to fix. I also had an issue with his right hand, I found it looked great for action poses but it just looked wierd in a neutral stance so I decided to go for some interchangeable hands. Anyhoo onto the recipe. Recipe Base = DCUC Superman, all joints sanded down to protect against paint rub. Head = 200x Tri-clops, the bottom of the head actually fit real easy no adjustments needed but then I had to figure out how to keep the articulation in the eye piece so, the top is held on by a screw straight through it into the superman neck peg. Bracelets and hands = 200x Tri-clops, right hand pops off and is held in place with a screw. Alternate right hand = DCUC Superman, pops right out and held on by a screw. Armour and loincloth = 200x Tri-clops, foam sheet for the straps around the back. Knees and lower leg = ML Falcon, ditched the double articulation on the knees to fit in better with the rest. Kneepads = 200x Tri-clops Boots and feet = Some Wolverine, I was going to just repaint the original shoes he-man had on but I decided i didn't really like the old t-shirt method I'd used on him. So, I was gonna sculpt some bandages but then after i'd attached them (by grinding them out and using hot glue to secure them, without using articulation) I decided I liked the look and besides he's an inventor so you'd think he'd have slightly more substantial footwear than bandages. So the feet stayed as they were with the 200x tri-clops shin pads and the fur sculpted on. Weapon = 200x Tri-clops. Painted with Games Workshop paints and sealed with Vallejo Satin Big thanks to Bobtheodd here for a bargain tri-clops and to Shinobitron, I used his 200x repaint as a reference for my paint job, loved the gold look his had. Still plenty more on the way!! ![]() |
