-Superior is the 2nd, serious custom that I've done. I'm a huge Mark Millar, and MillarWorld books fan. Though Millar has introduced a number of fun & interesting characters to the comic book world - Superior is a breath of fresh air to comics in a quality that has been missing from the medium for some time: hope. It was that breath of fresh air, and "original" quality it had, that really prompted me to do this custom.
-Superior's base is the All Star Superman figure. For the most part - it was simply a matter of finding the correct paint to use. I tried 4 different versions of the paint you see, before I settled on the one I did - which turned out to be perfect. The inside and the outside of the cape, the gloves, and the boots weren't hard - as they too, were just repaints.
-The 2 large, gold-dots are from a piece of thin gold cardboard (a school supply). I used a whole punch.
-The 3 smaller dots are also a sequence-y school supply I found while my wife was at a craft store. I happened upon them on accident and nabbed them, saving me from having to paint those in - which was thrilling.
-The thin line of gold holding the 2 larger dots together is simply a piece of thin, gold wire-metal, superglued in place.
-The belt was the tricky part. There are TONS of wrestling belts. I looked online for a number of days to find the right one with no avail. However, it was at a Walgreens where I ser the WWE Ruthless Agression figures - specifically the Series 40: Matt Hardy. It was perfect. This was funny - as I wasn't there actually looking for it, just accidentally found it.
-I was thrilled with how it came together. I have the privilege of knowing both Mark Millar and Leinil Yu from other areas of life, and had the opportunity to show it to them - which was really cool.
