Deadpool X-Force Costume Revised (Marvel Legends) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:32506
Name:Deadpool X-Force Costume Revised
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel Legends
Creator:BotCustoms
Date Added:September 5, 2011
Base Figure:SHIELD agent
Height:6.00 inches
Gonna sound familiar, but dyed a SHIELD agent black (And gonna keep dying SHIELD agents until I can get my hands on those dang elusive Punishers!) sculpted the hoodie, added belts and pouches. Original version was too dark, and after lots of feedback, I revised the appearance with a couple of layers of brighter gray and white in the air brush. I think he looks better now.

Thanks! I need to improve my photobooth eventually, but for now, it'll have to do. A pal is working on helping me improve it

Thanks! The dye just saturates the plastic, so that the joints and hinges and such turn black and stay black. They can't rub off after that. It's a good second place to having black plastic in the first place.. Just be sure to rinse it VERY good afterwards or the dye will seep up in to your paint. THAT sucks.

Thanks! It's always nice to hear when other people can spot something you did but weren't sure anybody would notice!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm liking this better than the darker version, though my son says he liked the darker one better because the details were easier to see in his opinion.

He's my toughest critic. lol

Nice work, but what are you referring to when you mention "dyeing" the figure?

Dye, like used for dying fabric. I use a multi-purpose dye that, while the plastic is heated, saturates the plastic staining the color. Then, once heated again and rinsed, any unused dye gets washed away. Once that's done, rinse in cold water to help the plastic set the color permanently. It's a neat trick for softer plastics, though tougher, less flexible, plastics tend to resist, even when heated.

Well, that sounds a bit complicated but maybe it's worth a try. Thanks for describing it.
