Man of Steel | Superman Henry Cavill 2.0 (DC Universe) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:33603
Name:Man of Steel | Superman Henry Cavill 2.0
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:DC Universe
Creator:GeekSummit
Date Added:October 14, 2011
Base Figure:DC UNIVERSE SKALLOX
Height:6.00 inches
here I took a red lantern Skallox figure and the head from my previous Superman Man of Steel preview figure and brought him back up to speed. Still working with a new technique for cape management but I think I have something figured out. The top of the cape is sculpted and the rest is fabric attached to the neck section of the cape. This allows control of the folds and the cape simultaneously.

The body is under painted in red and yellow for the belt and ribbing and then dry brushed silver afterward… really it kinda canceled out the under painting but it was worth a shot.

Viola!!! Man of Steel Superman

As usual, more pictures to come… FR only lets me post one at a time… MAC issue?

Yep he's dropping his drawers in stride with the New 52 initiative. But live I've said on many other boards... Most of the action takes place ABOVE the waist and I think we're in for a hell of a ride with this movie when it hits. I can't wait!!!

I really love how u made the costume, your take on him was very well taken
but the thing that I don't like about the new movie superman is that he doesent have the superman curl in his hair :/

I think they are letting natural curl come into play. You might have noticed that Superman Returns' spitcurl was this forced wierd ice pick thingy that never looked the same from shot to shot. I'm an Irish fro man myself and after a long day of hat-head I can produce a mighty mean "S" curl myself. I think we'll see a curl that has a more natural look to it in this new rendition. I've got a video posted from last night that features work in progression shots. Enjoy!!!

I like it! I think this new costume may grow on us yet! I usually am just old school classic costumes, but I get their point..."why does a guy need to wear underwear on the outstide of blue spandex...lol!" Christopher Reeve was the only one who could make that work right. Good job on this custom! Now make a Russell Crowe Jor-el before I do!

I wasn't crazy about it at first but I see what they are doing. The Superman and also otherwise super hero suit was based on circus strong men from the 1800's and early 1900's so it's definitely based in a very very historical origin. This new suit addresses those same necessities of the human form (belts and boots) but gives the suit a more alien origin which is totally understandable. I dig what they've done and I've got plenty faith that this movie will turn the Superman franchise slump around despite abandoning the classic trunks look. It's growing on me quickly.
