So hey, it's only been 20 FREAKIN' MONTHS since I posted the first two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles custom figures, I figured it was about time to get around to the rest of the main team. We got Leonardo and Michelangelo, now on to Donatello.

For those who don't remember (or can't be bothered to check the previous posts), the process for creating these figures is fairly simple:

Phase 1: Cut up TMNT figures.
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: Profit!

No, seriously, it's just a bit of part swapping and a little joint splicing. Each turtle uses a '03 cartoon turtle and a '07 CGI movie turtle. '03 provides the hands, feet, front shell, and one of the swappable heads, '07 provides the body, limbs, back shell, weapons, belts, and the secondary head. Joints are added so the figure has rotate points in the neck, biceps, wrists, and thighs; hinges in the elbows, knees, and ankles; and ball joints in the shoulders and hips. LocTite epoxy putty to build up the muscles, and a full paint job, and this turtle is go!

Turtle Power!

Thanks! I just kinda wish I'd had a set of Fightin' Gear Turtles (with the additional joints) when I made these. Would have saved me a LOT of trouble!

We talkin' '03 or '80s? I've often considered trying to do something with the old school figures, but a voice in the back of my head whispers "choose your battles." Some toys just aren't meant to be "fixed." The effort would be a bit too excessive.

Thanks for checking out my stuff!

Your turtles exhibit super clean work and great poseability. I'm thinking this is how they should should have been manufactured from Day 1.

Thanks SO much! As I've said before, coming from you, that's great praise. I LOVE your feudal turtles. I know they were based on someone else's art, but I'd be overjoyed to see interpretations of the other characters! You've already done a Shredder (kinda), but to see a Casey (some kind of western trader/pirate) and April (geisha or princess?) and Leatherhead (highwayman) and Bebob & Rocksteady (oni) and Krang (some kind of demon samurai armor) . . . oh, the possibilities are ENDLESS!

Yeah, a lot of people overlook the 2007 CGI movie figures because they didn't much care for the new character designs, but aside from the big feet, I thought they were great toys, and the accessories (like those goggles, and the "tricorder" device in pic two) were awesome. Note, the laptop came from an '03 April.

Once again clean work these look like retail figures! Also great idea allowing for interchangable heads gives each turtle a different look! Amazing work bro and look forward to seeing the rest ot the gang from you soon!
