This guy represents a first for me on two fronts: 1) its the first Star Wars figure i've done, and 2) its the first time i've done a figure predominantly with cloth. I spent quite a bit of time last year discussing 6" star wars figures in a forum over at the fwoosh, and after seeing the prototypes that 3A made, against my best judgment, it made me want to make some with cloth. I always wanted to make a Darth Maul, so i decided to stop screwing around and just do it. I wanted to make his outfit as film-accurate as possible, so i spent some time pouring over the patterns that i could find of it online. Turns out there are a ton of layers to it, so that was fun. So his robes and pants are t-shirt, and his especially strange belt is thin vinyl. He's all Jigsaw underneath, with Sentry gloves. I kind of wish i had used some hands that could grip better, but i also want him to be able to do a force push pose, so i just kept the Sentry hands. His head is from the Epic Force Darth Maul. I ended up deciding to repaint it cause it just looked too plasticy, which was good practice for line work. His lightsaber is just a metal rod with sculpted emitters, little pieces of styrene for the red buttons, and blades cut off from the epic force figure with magnets attached so they could be removable. Finally attached a magnet to his belt so that he could have his lightsaber hang like it does in the films. I really like this one, hope you guys do too. I'm currently working on a Darth Vader, ARC Trooper, Luke, and Boba Fett.

Thanks man! As far as a tutorial, I may do that after I've had some more practice at it. At this point I wouldn't say I'm qualified to do a tutorial on it.

Thanks man. I think you'd all be better served by just reading the tutorial I keep going back to. I can't link to it cause of figurerealms rules, but if you google search for "glorbes cloth tutorial", its the third link down titled "making wee little clothes for wee little people"

thanks pulpy. Spawnsauce taught me the method, so credit is still due to him on the cloth work.

This is great, I thought it looked as good as a spawnsauce creation for sure! Great work on the face re-paint, but the fabric work stole the show on this one! Great stuff!
