I just got my hands on some micro arts Discworld miniatures and wanted more to desplay them on than the plastic base that came with them, This is the first time I have worked with miniatures, so here we have Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg, Magrat Garlic and Giamo Cassanunda "the worlds smallest lover" outside of Grannys Cottage in Lancre. I made the walls of the cottage and the chimney from styrafoam pizza base and drew all of the stone work on by hand with a ballpoint pen, painted and fixed the walls together. The roof thatch was sculpted useing air dry fimo. Next I sculpted the door, window frames the privy, bench and all of the wood work from fimo and baked it hard, then the wood work was painted and the windows fitted with clear plastic that was dirtyed up with gray and brown washes and all of the wood work was fitted to the cottage. The ground was cut from a cerial box and sculpted over and the house was fitted to the ground, then the ground was painted dark green. The trees were made from wire wraped in medical tape and then covered with a pva and polyfiller mix applied with a stiff brush to give a barch like texture the trees were then painted and fixed to the ground. I made the stones for the path from foam board painted and fitted them to the ground base.
The base was then covered with grass flock. I carved the bee hives from foam board and made a wind sock from fimo clay.
The privy was fitted to the base and the garden was glued into place using model railway flowers and long grass and bushes the trees were also topped with lychen. I think thats everything but this was a lot of hard work and seemed to take ages so forgive me if I forgot anything.Hope you like it weather you are a Discworld fan or not (if you are not, try reading some of the books they are fantastic) as always your comments are very welcome

Great detail on such small figures, my brother has some of them and I know exactly how small they are so the paint work must have taken ages!
