According to the data collected by the Lacrimosa, a deep-space science vessel devoted to the study of xenomorphs, research revealed that with every Alien colony, the hierarchy was divided by drone, warrior, fighter-general, and the guardian, with the Queen overseeing all activity.
The function of the guardian was to nurture & protect the hive, where the pods incubated and the "hosts" were prepared. This creature was the last defense for the survival of the facehuggers, in the event that an invasion should occur. As caregiving as its programmed to be, it also is a fierce assassin in the tumult of battle. Also one of the closes servants to the Queen, this hybrid was an invaluable member of the colony.
